August 2019

August was a full month for all of us! It's going to be a great school year!

Brennan has been busy with his challenging class schedule, part-time Mobile App Dev internship continued from the summer, applying to colleges, training for 5Ks, getting his senior project approved, serving as a Youth Deacon at church, and getting ready for the Youth Leadership program wrapping up later this month.  He's handling it all well!

First day of Senior Year!

1st Days of Kindergarten and Senior Year!

David and Brennan helped me cross another item off my 50x50 -ride a Segway!  We did a tour along the canal in Downtown Indy on a gorgeous summer day!

I went with Laura, Kelly, and Cindy to the inaugural Railbird Musical Festival to see our favorite, Brandi Carlile.  What a great day of music and SUN.

Bailey and Remy are doing great.  They're loving all the walks.  We haven't been hiking much because of snakes, ticks, and busy-ness.  We'll be back in the fall though.

He's just sleeping.

We are proud of our niece Danielle who was crowned in Nashville, TN in the ANTSO scholarship program.

In January,  over a curry dinner, the Boatwrights, Hacks, and Freys hatched the idea for a Woodstock party on the 50th anniversary of the music festival.  The 6 of us had a ball planning the big event.  It was legendary!

Very cool Peace Signs made by Cindy

I made the selfie frame.  There were so many special touches.  It was awesome!

Our friends Jeff and Karen brought their 1970 bug that was perfect for photo ops

Everyone got into the spirit!  I think we had 80 in attendance.  It was awesome!

Clare caught us dancing and had to capture a photo.  The live band was terrific!!

I've been traveling for work a lot more.  A day trip to Wisconsin was great.

We had a few minutes on a trip to Minnesota to stop by Paisley Park.  We did not take the tour due to not wanting to miss our flight!  But it was very cool to see.

Thomas moved into his first apartment in August!  He's in a 4 bedroom/4 bathroom with 3 roommates.  They're enjoying putting up shelves, cooking together, and setting up their 4th floor apartment.  Thomas hates waiting, and the elevator is slow, so I can see how he'll get his exercise!

Thomas was in town for an evening so we took him out.  The next morning was his first day of 14th grade (sophomore in college)!  It's going to be a great year!

Thomas started his new internship on Friday!  I loved getting to see him at work.  He will be doing web design for a quality group.  It should be a great experience for him!

In very sad news, my Uncle Justin passed away suddenly in August.  I was so happy that I could travel to Tuscaloosa to be with my family.  As a counselor at the VA Hospital, a volunteer fireman, and an Army Veteran, it was a very special service at his and Ellen's beautiful church.  He will be missed!

Happy September!
