April 2021

In April the weather turned, and then it turned back to winter, but it was a happy month.  Here are our highlights as we're all vaccinated now!

David went to Mississippi over Easter and I spent the day with the boys and working.  He got to take in a baseball game with Daddy.

I had lunch with Brennan at Purdue and then dinner back home with Thomas when he was available!

Lots of get togethers with friends including Litwits (our evening book club)

Dinner with former neighbors Joan and Walt Able after 14 months of not seeing them

A chance to wear my lobster/crawfish ribbon again at John and Ginger's crawfish boil!

And we were able to celebrate Chef Gregory's 88th birthday with friends and family

Lots of walks with friends and the dogs while the weather was good

And we brought Brennan home for a long weekend before he had to return for finals

Remy time - he LOVES errands

And our latest house project - we replaced the older table and umbrella with a new table and pergola

Here is the before:

The mid-process

And the after!  David did an awesome job and we are really enjoying our new outdoor space!

We hope you are having a great May!

March 2021

Hi everyone!  In going through my photos I see March 2021 was a pretty low-key month!  So ready for spring, though.  We've had some gorgeous weather but the last couple of days have been really chilly.  Looking forward to real spring soon!

I've completed some virtual walking challenges over the last few months.  I finished the English Channel last month.

We got to together with our vaccinated friends to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  The world is starting to feel a little more normal!

David and I have been doing some hiking with the boys.  Here are a few photos!

We spent Sunday at Spring Mill State Park which was great.  We did not get to tour the Pioneer Village given pets are not allowed but it was fun to get out of town and explore.

And a few puppy photos.

A sunny day outside

And this is what happens when we ask who wants to go for a walk.  Remy is always game, but Bailey, not so much.  He's always ready for "bye-bye" (car) or "going on an adventure".  But not "walks".  Strange.

Happy Spring!

February 2021

It's not so bad turning 50.  Especially when you get to take a trip to a special place and have a party thrown in your honor.  Plus hear from so many family and friends.  It was a lovely birthday and I'm happy to have hit another milestone!

Some non-birthday things happened in February too.  I got my second dose of Moderna and feel great about being fully vaccinated!

We had some serious snow (as did Texas and much of the rest of the country!)  This is looking out of the large windows in our basement.

We spent some time with the boys including a couple of quick trips to Purdue and we brought Brennan home for a weekend.  And we got to see Thomas too a few times too.  So that's always good to reconnect just the 4 (6) of us.

And lots of great evenings by the fire.  Bailey truly loves that time of day.

For the big event, David and I headed to Sedona for a nice trip and it was fantastic.  The weather was perfect and the town lived up to my expectations.

Lots of hikes and ruins and vortexes and gorgeous red rocks.  A Peace Garden and then the Desert Botanical Gardens in Tempe on my birthday before a wonderful meal eating outdoors.  In February!  We picked the right get-away location!

I thought my Saturday birthday with friends was going to be a quiet time, maybe a hike, or a glass of wine.  Oh the misdirection, planning, and amazing surprise that awaited me!

David took me to Hotel Indigo to "meet up with friends" and a whole mimosa brunch welcomed us!  Along with a big surprise as friends I hadn't seen in a year surprised me!

This ended up being stop one on a 10 stop adventure where different friends were waiting for me.  What an adventure it was!  My head was spinning and I had a BALL!

The ones who pulled it off - Cindy, Laura, Violet and Ginger.

And the boys got cleaned and fluffed.  I'll end with this shot of them, not exactly thrilled after spending the day at the spa :)
