Happy October! I'm behind on blogging, but am taking a few minutes over the holiday to put some updates out!
Sarah and I wrapped up our annual outdoor yoga series in October. This year we tied in the Sunday classes with the Exhibit Columbus art installations. We had a great time with some dedicated yogis.
Beautiful October arrangement from Gina at Pomp and Bloom.
We supported Eric and Cindy at the annual fundraiser "Not-So-Newlywed Game" for Turning Point Domestic Violence Shelter. The 6 brides and grooms answered tough questions - all in support of a great cause. Our friends did great!
We have a new rock gym in town and we took Brennan and his friends Matthew and Brandon to climb. Brennan was a natural.
David climbed too and showed the 10th graders how it's done.
While Brennan was at handbell choir practice at church, David and I walked Bailey downtown through the Exhibit Columbus installations.
Brennan and I went to the Ethnic Expo festival. This year's theme country was Germany!
Brennan and friends, walking to the festival.
I got my hair done 60s style for our Motown themed Wine Club at Jeff and Karen's lake house. What a fun night of great music and dancing, trivia contests and a little wine by the lake.
I am in an architecture club of 7 ladies who meet monthly to talk art and architecture and as it pertains to our community. We took a field trip to Indy to see the Columbus Club, this amazing Art Deco building, and the new Cummins building.
Thomas participated in Youth Leadership Bartholomew County - a senior tradition in our community. I got to attend the speeches and award celebration with him.
We joined Stan and Vanessa at the Inn at Irwin Gardens for their final Cocktail Friday for the season.
Big milestone for our family! After many college visits, Thomas chose the one university program he was interested in, applied, and got in. Woo hoo! We have an accepted college freshman. David got us a bottle of champagne to celebrate.
For David's birthday we went to Indy for a great evening out at St. Elmo's Steakhouse and a little time on the circle.
My team did some team building in October. Here we are at the Dorel building after a great tour.
It was a fun weekend celebrating the 500th anniversary of the Reformation! The Philharmonic had a concert based around the music of the time. I love patron Gretchen's attire for the event!
The Phil and choir were amazing as always!
My favorite volunteer for the weekend. Brennan helped by passing out programs at his high school auditorium.
Even the Kroger cart collector was in on the Reformation fun!
Brennan's handbell group played a beautiful set for Reformation Sunday.
Here's Brennan on Halloween finishing his pumpkin. This is the first year that no one in our family trick or treated. For 13 years we went to our friends, the Borowskis, where they have a kid-filled neighborhood. We ate dinner and trick or treated with the kids. This year, they're all too old (15-20). Sad day! But now we have a new tradition. Brennan passed out the candy and praised all the kids' costumes. Changing of the guard!
I thought it was sweet that our boys went with Happy Pumpkins this year!
