Brennan's Junior Prom was held last weekend and it was quite the event! I was so happy Brennan was willing to go. While it may not be top on his list of experiences to master, I think it's an important one, and he had a lot of fun. I think it was good to prove to himself he could fully participate in something as chaotic and ritual-filled as Prom in our town!
David spent that day moving Thomas out of his dorm and home for the summer and securing a car for Thomas. We wanted the car in Thomas's name to start building his credit history and it took FOREVER. Brennan and I managed the tux just fine, and David caught up with us at photos.
Brennan asked Dee to Prom in March. Dee is a friend from middle school and high school who recently moved about an hour away but is still connected to everyone locally. She was game and they had a lot of fun together. Maybe going with a friend makes it that much more fun?!
We met up with their big group of friends at the Inn and Irwin Gardens for some interior photos. The rest of the group came about the time the rain let up so we could move outside. Here are some of my favorites.
It was May the 4th (be with you) so there was a Star Wars theme!
Heading towards dinner, taking a few more photos in the library plaza
They had a huge group who had dinner together at Tre Bicchieri before heading to Prom. We had dinner at Taku with Dee's mom before watching the Prom Parade and then the Promenade into the venue.
After Prom they came back to our house and Dee's mom joined us. She had been visiting with local friends for a few hours. They got to tell us all about it, and I was reminded of Thomas's Junior Prom two years ago when Neil and Joel stayed overnight with us and we heard all about it the next day over breakfast. I love this tradition!
Brennan's teacher sent me this photo as they entered prom (no parents allowed) :)
And I pulled these from the Republic newspaper of our group. I love Prom. It's such a fun time of year!
There's Brennan at dinner!
