Once Again I Could Use Your Decorating Help!

I could really use your decorating advice. You sent me such great advice about our need for curtains in the living room a couple of months ago, I'm going to reach out again!

I am looking for a curtain solution for these strange windows in our master bathroom.
These windows are 135" long.
They face the front yard.
We have lights in this area but it get a little dark as you can see from this photo.

The little valances hanging in there now are just a make-do solution.  They don't work though and I realize that, and am trying to figure out what to do.

We're going to use the same fabric that we used for the living room curtains HERE.  It's a great wheat/subtle yellow fabric that I just love.  Plus it goes well with the mats and other other stuff that we have in the bathroom.

When we moved in there were ugly baby blue blinds that we took down, but then decided we needed something for privacy - hence the little valances that are up now.

Ugh

But what to do?  I thought about making valances and hanging them from rings like we did in the living room but David thinks it'll make it too dark if they hang all the way down to the bottom of the window.  He likes what we have now because it gives us privacy but also light.

I'm just not sure what solution is best.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

Wow, that's a tough one. I agree with your husband about the light. Is there any way you could have them frosted? It would give you privacy, and still let in light. I have seen designers do this on HGTV.

I'm a huge fan of top down blinds or valences. They're a little trickier to rig up, but you could leave them down almost all the time and still get all the light in from the top of the windows. :)

I would probably put some frosting paper up. It is simple and neat. It looks like curtains would get in the way as you walked past.
