San Francisco for Spring Break

We are back from a 9 day/8 night Spring Break trip "out west" - and what a great time we had!
Lots and lots of photos to share.
I'll start with our first stop- San Francisco.

David had visited San Fran during a business trip, but the boys and I were newbies.  It's a beautiful city, full of great architecture, culture (as Brennan says), delicious restaurants, great scenery, and lots to see and do!

Our first day in San Francisco was overcast, but still beautiful.  Our second day was very sunny and blue skies.  You can see the difference in the photos below.

In the Embarcadero/Wharf area

The Sea Lions at Pier 39.  We could hear them before we could see them.

My own sea lion.

We had a delicious meal at a restaurant at Fisherman's Wharf.
I had a dungeness crab sandwich that was absolutely wonderful.

We toured the heart of the city as well.

The Transamerica Pyramid

Steep, steep downtown streets that were a lot of fun to explore

We headed up to the top of Telegraph Hill for views of the Bay

And views of the City

And Coit Tower that we had read about before our trip.

We traveled the length of Lombard Street - the crookedest road ever.

It's hard to get a sense of Lombard Street from my passenger vantage point.  Here's a photo from another point of view.

We drove through Golden Gate Park and crossed the Golden Gate Bridge a couple of times during our visit.
It's really beautiful up close!

And immediately outside the city the view changes to gorgeous hills and water.

We really enjoyed our time in San Francisco and would love to go back.
On the way back into the city the first night we stopped in nearby Sausalito for another fantastic meal - this time at an Italian restaurant.
The restaurants alone are a reason to spend quality time in San Francisco!
(Brennan declared it a city where he could easily live as well.  Maybe his favorite city so far.)
