Long Way Down

David and I have really enjoyed watching this documentary over the last few weeks. NPR had a review on it so I put it on our Netflix queue. It sounded like something we would enjoy. I doubted we could sit through the entire 3 disk series - who has time? - but I thought it might be interesting to check out.

Over the last few weeks we have watched every minute. This was addictive. If a week had past, we made sure we started back right where we left off. Didn't want to miss a moment. It's not that common that we find something that we both like - and would devote this much free time to. It was a lot of fun.

Ewan MacGregor (Star Wars, Moulin Rouge, Emma...) and his friend Charley Boorman ride from John O'Groats, Scotland, to Cape Town, South Africa almost entirely on motorcycle. This is actually their second big trip. In the 2004 documentary "Long Way Around", they did a similar trip from London to New York - traveling East.

I loved the Africa parts of this series. They drove through so many countries and were thrilled to be able to meet locals and camp in the dessert.

Ewan and Charley bring out the adventurer in everyone. Check this series out. Enjoy it with your spouse!
