Day Trip to Louisville

The boys and I had a great trip to Louisville yesterday. We went to see my godson, Scott, participate in the Kentucky state band competition. That didn't stop us from seeing other sites in Louisville before the big event.

My godson is circled. He rocks "the pit" (drums, xylophone, cymbals...)

We went to the Louisville Science Center. The boys had been looking forward to it for a week. It's located downtown on West Main, across from the Louisville Slugger Museum. It's a cute strip of town, with lots of things to see.

Lots of thoroughbred art downtown.

The sidwalk is filled with sculptures and tributes to the city.

Bat models by famous players and coaches lined the sidewalk. This is Yogi Berra's.

Then on to the Science Center.

Brennan in a Gemini capsule.

Cool exhibit that shows your face aged 20, 40, and 60 years.

On our way to the stadium for the band contest.

These high school bands were really impressive! It's hard to believe they are so young and can deliver these choreographed performances. Brennan said "it's kind of like a talent show, but with bands."

Of course, our favorite part of the day was seeing Aunt Jeanne. We wished it had been longer!

Science, cute downtown area, godson, friend, beautiful weather = great day!
