Revolutionary Fair and some 80s Style

The 5th graders in the boys' school had a terrific Revolutionary Fair at the end of May.  The 5th grade studies US history (4th does Indiana history, 3rd does local city history) and read a lot about the Civil and Revolutionary Wars.

The program was absolutely fantastic.  There were two days worth of stations for the kids to travel through.  I volunteered and learned a lot myself.

One of the highlights was the Pillory and Uniform station where the kids learned about punishments back in the 1700s and were able to try on some recreated uniforms of the day.  One of the class moms (who is an amazing photographer) took photos and sent them to each family.

Thomas is so proud of these!

For the last two weeks Thomas has been attending Summer Band Camp (trumpet, you know).
This week is Spirit Week which he is so excited about!  He spent the weekend thinking up his costumes.

Here he is yesterday - 80s Day
